Morning Skincare Routine

la roche posay effaclar duo+, avene extremely gentle cleanser, bioderma sensibio eye cream, la roche-posay serozinc - Beauty by Eff

I put a lot of effort in skincare.  I believe, if you take care of your skin, it will pay off in the long run.    Today I'll talk about my current morning skincare routine.  I like to keep it quite minimal in the morning, as it saves time and I don't feel like I have a million layers on underneath my makeup.

After I wake up, I can see my skin is quite oily so I like to use something to 'clean off' that extra oil.  Recently I've been using Avene Extremely Gentle Cleanser* (£6 here).  It's a really gentle cleanser, doesn't lather - just takes off the extra oil from my skin without making it feel dry and tight.  The instructions tell you to wipe off with tissue, but I prefer to wash it off with water.

Next step, I like to spritz my face with La Roche-Posay Serozinc.  I think this helps to helps to 'chase away' any small spots trying to peek through.

I love me some eye cream!  I've using eye cream religiously since my teens, hoping I'll see benefits in the future years.  I've been using Bioderma Sensibio Eye Contour Gel (£14 here).  Not sure why it's described as a gel, when it's actually a cream!  It has a really light texture and sinks in easily.  I've been using it for a few months and am really liking it.

I don't always use a serum in the morning, solely because I feel like there are too many layers - serum, moisturiser, SPF, primer, foundation powder.....so I like to cut out things that are not 100% necessary!

Lastly moisturiser - I've only been using this about 2 weeks-ish.  Before this I was using it's predecessor, La roche Posay Effaclar Duo, which I loved!  La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo [+]* (£15.50 here) is slightly thicker in texture, I haven't had a single breakout yet, but it's early days.  I will do a full review after a couple of weeks to give it a proper trial.  So far though, it's good, not sure if it's better than it's previous version.

Hope you've enjoyed something different, let me know what your skincare routine is made up of.  I'm always up for trying new things!

P.S.: Escentual.com are having a upto 1/3rd off French Pharmacy brands (e.g. La Roche-Posay, Avene, Nuxe etc) - make sure you stock up!
