Spring Edit Nails - Beauty by Eff

I'm obsessed with pastel shades at the moment!  There are just so many around.  In the past year, I've accumulated my fair share of pastel nail polishes, and I've picked my top 5 for spring 2014.

Essie Mint Candy Apple is an old favourite of mine.  It's an oldie, but goodie!  I wanted it for the longest time, and finally got my hands on it last Christmas, and if possible love it even more.  It’s the prettiest and the perfect mint nail colour in my opinion.  It’s fun yet chic!  I just haven’t come across any other mint shades that have matched up.  Available at Boots, £7.99.

Models Own HyperGels are one of the best nail releases of 2014 in my opinion.  Such beautiful glossy shine finish and great staying power for £5!  You can read this post for full review.  Naked Glow is a great nude shade that gives the illusion of an expensive salon manicure.  If you’re wearing bright colours and want low-key, low maintenance mani/pedi, then go with this.  Effortless sophistication!  Available at Boots, £5.

Maybelline isn’t a brand I go to for nail polishes, but this shade caught my eye last summer, and I’ve worn it numerous times since then.  Maybelline Forever Strong nail polish in Lilac Charm is a lovely, pretty lilac colour (hence the name).  It stays chip-free for a very long time even without a top coat.  The lilac mani compliments whatever you’re wearing, so you don’t need to worry about any clashes. It’s no longer available in Boots, but can be found on Amazon, £1.99.

Essie A Crewed Interest is described as a luminous peach.  Although a pastel shade, it’s quite bright making it perfect for spring and summer.  It adds a pop of colour to your outfit if you don’t like to dress too colourful.  I love wearing this on holiday and it will be making an appearance on my nails this summer.  Available at Look Fantastic, £10.95.

White nails have made a comeback recently, and I’m not talking about the awful tippex kind!  You can get away with wearing this shade anywhere and if you’re into the monochrome trend, this fits the bill perfectly.  Ciaté Paper Doll (part of Dolls House set, full review here) is a white nail polish with matte finish.  If you’re not a fan of matte finish, you can always apply a glossy top coat for a glossy finish.  I liked this because being matte, there wasn’t any shimmer/frost in this polish whatsoever.  I’ve previously bought white nail polish, got home and realised it had shimmer/frosty finish – not a fan.  A great alternative to this would be Models Own HyperGel in White Light, here.

What are your nail picks for this spring?
