I have had a hard time narrowing down products for favourites for April. I was trying to get a good round up of products rather than just many types of one product.
I discovered Charles Worthington Volume & Bounce Texturising Spray, £6.99 when it was described as a dupe for Oribe Texturising Spray. I was never going to fork out £40 for a hair spray, so bought this to see if it made any difference to my fine, flat hair. It really did surprise me. It gives good amount of volume, but the most impressive thing is it actually holds the volume. After a couple of hours if you, hair’s looking flat, just ‘lift’ your hair with your fingers and it’s back again! Also, it makes your hair smell really nice! Just a word of warning though, it does have a ‘slight’ crunch feeling much like hairspray, so if you don’t like that, you may not like this! I’ve been putting a lot more effort into my hair, and I have CW Texturising spray to thank for that! Available at Boots.
I got the Bourjois Happy Light Matte Serum Primer, £10.99 back during Christmas time. I didn’t have any high hopes as previously almost all highstreet/drugstore primers have only disappointed. However, I’ve been using this non-stop for the last 4 months and really, really loving it. It really helps my skin to stay matte for longer, and even when it’s not quite matte, it’s never as shiny it would be without this primer. It’s a peachy colour, but when applied you can’t really see anything. The texture is really velvety and helps foundation to glide on. I apply with my fingers, a little tip – don’t rub too much as it tends to rub off. This is probably the only little issue, but the product itself is really impressive. I may have found the primer I’ve been looking for, for my oily-combination skin! Available at Boots.
I’ve already blogged about Stila’s unique offering, so I won’t go on too much. Stila Breast Cancer Awareness Cheek Palette in Positively Pink, £12 is a lovely pink blush with highlighting pigments, making it somewhat a hybrid product. It’s been adorning my cheeks for most of the month and I highly recommend it! Available at Stila UK.
Essie’s Mint Candy Apple, £7.99 nail polish made it to my Spring Edit for Nails (here). It’s one of my all-time favourites, and it reminded me of how much I love it. So it has been on my nails for most of April, reminding me that it is indeed spring! Available at Boots.
Would you believe I have never owned anything from Nars?! Yes, you read that right! So I bit the bullet, a couple of months ago and bought the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella, £17.50. It is the most beautiful deep red lip colour, the texture is really smooth and finish is completely matte. The colour stays on for hours and doesn’t transfer whatsoever. Safe to say, I’ll be getting my hands on some more Nars products!
Recently, Lancôme Hypnose Mascara, £22.50 celebrated its 10th birthday and it reminded me how much I actually love this product. So I dug this out of my stash and I’ve fallen in love with it again. The formula is moist enough so lashes don’t clump together and the brush perfectly defines and lengthens. I don’t love many high-end mascaras, but this is an exception. Available at Debenhams.
Have you tried any of the products mentioned? What have you loved in April?
