Topshop Lipstick Innocent - Review + Swatch

Topshop Lipstick in Innocent Review + Swatch - Aspiring Londoner

A hint to my ever-growing lipstick collection is this blog; I have endless photos of lipsticks and swatches.  So it’ll come as no surprise to you that I have yet another lipstick for you today.  Yes! I know you’re excited, wait till I get to the swatch!

Today’s lipstick is exciting because it’s from a brand I’ve never tried before.  It’s Topshop’s Lipstick in ‘Innocent’, available at Topshop for £8.  I didn’t pick this shade, it came as part of Topshop’s ‘Best of Kit’ I mentioned in a previous post (here).

The packaging is very chic as are all of Topshop’s makeups!  It’s a metallic/tin cover that’s quite sturdy and the lid is secure, so doesn’t come off in your bag, ruining the lipstick!  There’s also that satisfying ‘click’ when you put the lid back on.

Innocent is quite a pastel pale pink, with somewhat mauve undertones.  In some lights, I’d say it looks almost lilac.  On pale lips, it’d look absolutely beautiful.
Looking at the shade, I was pretty sure it wouldn’t suit me.  However I had to give it a try to test it out.  It’s a little too pale for my pigmented lips and washes me out, which is quite unfortunate as the formula is really great.  The formula is really creamy and moisturising.  It didn’t dry my lips out at all.  The longevity is quite average, about 2-3 hours.  I don’t think that’s a deal breaker as because I’d say this lipstick (formula wise) is comparable to MAC’s creamsheen lipsticks.  MAC lipsticks are probably just a tad creamier, but for half the price Topshop has done a fantastic job with the lipsticks!
Although this colour doesn’t suit me, this would look really pretty with someone with lighter skin tone.  I am really keen to try out some more colours; I have my eyes on Rio Rio!
