Yep, we have in fact come to the end of the eighth month
of the year. I’m honestly just stunned
at how fast these months are passing me by.
It’s crazy, but here’s the silver lining – the favourites post!
Last month by some miracle, I ended up finishing two of
my foundations. So I finally took the
plunge and gave in to the lure of a Bobbi Brown foundation. The foundation is great for my
oily/combination skin. It mattifies
without looking powdery and gives the most natural finish. It blends really well and basically looks
like my skin. I won’t give too much away
as I’ll post a full review soon. But
know this, I’ve fallen head over heels!
Y’all know I love me some RT brushes. About 70% of my brushes are RT, does that tell you anything?! What attracted me to this brush was the portable function. As an oily skinned gal, I’m always armed with pressed powder and a brush to apply. What’s better than a retractable hygienic brush for the purpose? The quality of this brush is excellent as usual, soft and dense, perfect for powdering. You could apply blush and bronzer with it too – so perfect for travelling. Multipurpose products are always welcome in my collection.
Pressed powders are a oily skinned gals best friend, especially in the warmer months. This has not left my side all summer. I’ve hit pan on this big style, so might be time to purchase. This is undoubtedly the best powder I’ve used. It’s completely undetectable in the skin, no cakey/powderiness and keeps my skin from looking like a complete oil slick! Good old MAC to the rescue! Love it!
I’ve reviewed this mascara in full here. I’ve especially enjoyed using it this month
as it’s a no fuss mascara. It gives a
really natural finish, so you don’t look like you’ve heaped on makeup. This gives length and definition without
looking too overdone. Excellent for
everyday and if you’re going for a subtle, minimal look, which I have been
doing for the past month!
I’ve raved about this before (review
here) and I’m about to do it again.
Without a doubt one of the best kohl pencils on the high street! The creamy texture, the intense pigmentation
and the longevity is amazing. You
definitely get more than you pay for with this one. I’ve been using this as liner instead of
liquid/felt liners. Once it sets, it
doesn’t budget. So brilliant for girls
that want to keep it simple and quick. Me!
This was part of the Winter Collection couple of years
ago. It’s a really bright orangey red
and looks great with a tan. Granted I don’t
tan, but I love this on my toes to brighten up my feet. This has been on my fingers and toes a lot this month! I love Essie polishes for their smooth
application, amazing range of colours and streak free application.
