As the last post for #Hands&Tips, it was only apt to
share with you my picks of nail polishes for AW14. There’s a good mix of new and old favourites
and quite a colour range which I hope will cater for all you nail polish
lovers!
CORAL
This may seem a bit of an odd pick for AW14, but as the
weather remains bright in England, I’ve been opting for a nice coral to add a
splash of colour to my outfits. I call
it an ‘alternative’ transitional colour!
It’s a perfect reminder of summer for those of us who can’t bear to let
summer go. I’ve been loving The
Body Shop Colour Crush Nail Colour in Rosy Cheeks* on my nails
(swatch here).
PLUM
A classic autumnal shade to contrast my alternative
transitional coral. This is probably my
favourite autumnal shade as you can’t go wrong with plum in Autumn/Winter. The deep, rich colours reflect the change in
the season and compliments the darker autumnal wardrobe. I’ve had this particular shade for a few
years and don’t think it’s available any more.
It’s Avon Nailwear in Midnight Plum, similar shade would be Essie’s
Luxedo.
TEAL/GREEN
These two colours are the bold trend for AW14, but I can
imagine it might seem a little daunting to wear green nail polish! Whilst I find Barry M’s ‘Key Lime’ shade might
not reflect Autumn/Winter, No7’s ‘Totally
Teal’ certainly does!
Another deep shade to add some colour to your outfit!
BLUE
This is another one of my favourite transitional shade
going from Summer to Autumn/Winter. I
particularly like Nails
Inc Nail Polish in Baker Street as it’s a bright cobalt blue that
brightens up your outfit yet not as summery as pastel/neon shades. Just make sure you’ve not opted for blue eye
shadow too!
RED
The red is purely because of the impending festive season (I didn’t use the ‘C’ word!). You need something bright and glossy that’ll truly reflect the spirit of the season. Nothing screams glamour and gloss like the colour red! I have the perfect festive mani solution for you with The Body Shop Colour Crush Nail Colour in Red My Mind*. It is a vibrant red with a super glossy finish (swatch here).
