Guide to Glowing Skin with Simple Skincare & Sleek MakeUp - Aspiring Londoner

Everyone strives for glowing skin.  There’s nothing better than having a healthy glow to your skin that can only be enhanced by makeup.  Therefore, to achieve this look, you need to pay attention to your skincare and as well as your makeup.  Keeping this in mind, Simple Skincare and Sleek MakeUp has teamed up to give you a ‘guide to glowing skin’!

In my opinion, excellent skin is the ‘foundation’ for amazing looking makeup {see what I did there!? ;-)}.  If your skin is not in its best condition, no amount of makeup, no matter how expensive is going to look good.  So make sure the base of your makeup, your skin is at its best by using good skincare products and ensure you have a skincare routine that you stick to.

Good skincare always starts with clean and well hydrated skin.  If I’m wearing makeup, I wipe most of it off with Simple Kind To Skin Exfoliating Facial Wipes*.  This ensures the bulk of my m
akeup is gone before I can properly cleanse my skin.  Then go in with the Simple Kind To Skin Purifying Cleansing Lotion*.  Although they advise you to remove with cotton pad, don’t do that.  I go in with my flannel (face cloth)/muslin cloth and wipe it all off.  It really cleanses the skin and mildly exfoliates your skin too!  Although I’m not a toner fan, for those of you that enjoy it – after cleansing, apply the Simple Soothing Skin Toner* with a cotton pad.  It feels cooling and somewhat refreshing on my freshly cleaned skin.  The final step is my favourite, moisturising.  Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser* is actually a moisturiser I’ve used many times in my younger years.  Its light texture was perfect for my oily/combination skin.  My skin drinks it up without leaving any residue and looks plump!  I love discovering old favourites, forgot how much I enjoyed it!

If I’m looking to make my skin radiate a healthy glow, I always keep my base minimal and light.  Nothing hides your skin’s glow like a heavy foundation!  Enter Sleek MakeUp Bare Skin Foundation*.  It has a really lightweight formula and gives a light to medium coverage.  If you need more coverage, just touch up with your concealer.  I use my Real Techniques buffing brush (review here) to really buff this into my skin.  This provides a really true to skin natural finish and lets my skin shine through.  To warm up my complexion, I reach for the Sleek MakeUp Face Form*.  I mostly use the contour powder to lightly contour my cheeks and the highlighter on the high points of my cheeks to enhance the skin’s glow.

Guide to Glowing Skin with Simple Skincare & Sleek MakeUp Au Naturel Eyeshadow Palette - Aspiring Londoner

I go for quite light eye makeup when I’m going for a healthy glowing skin minimal look.  I reach for the Sleek MakeUp Eye Shadow Palette in Au Naturel* to add some depth to my crease.  With my MAC 217 blending brush and the shade ‘Capuccino’ and just blend across my crease.  To define my sparse brow, I use the Sleek MakeUp Brow Kit* in Extra Dark.  This really adds definition to my eye area and makes my brows look somewhat a decent shape.  Last but not least, the lips.  I find it hard to find natural lip colours without them being too brown or too pink.  My lips are quite pigmented and it just makes it that much harder to wear lighter lipstick shades.  For this minimal look, Sleek MakeUp’s True Colour Lipstick in Liquer* was the perfect choice.  It has a nice purple undertone which makes it a perfect nude that suits even my pigmented lips!  So if you have Asian/indian skintone, check this shade out!

There you are!  The perfect guide to healthy glowing skin using all drugstore products namely Simple Skincare and Sleek Makeup!  Give this a go and glow your way to #AW14Trends!
