Being a beauty blogger, I try many many lipsticks. They vary in price range from around £5 at Boots/Superdrug to an eye-watering £36 (if you’re a Tom Ford fan, you know what I’m sayin’!). Having said that, not everyone is a beauty blogger and not everyone wants to own every shade of red lipstick ever made. For people who want to try different colours, but aren’t big lipstick wearers or even just wants a bold shade for a season but doesn’t want to spend a lot – this brand is for you!
Today for #LipWeek, I’m going to introduce you to lipsticks from Cien Beauty. Cien Beauty is the beauty range by Lidl stores. I knew they did some skincare but I must say I didn’t notice any makeup, so I’m going to be taking a closer look next time I’m at the store! The packaging looks nice although slightly flimsy. The cap stays on unlike some other cheaper ones that become loose and completely ruin the inside of your handbag!
The lipsticks are priced at an amazing £2 and come in eight shades. They range from daily wearable nudes to vibrant, bold shades of red. Rosewood* is a very sheer pink with a frosty finish. I don’t like frosty finishes usually and tend to stay away. But I really liked this as it just added sheen to my lips and looked really natural. It let my natural lip colours shine through. I wouldn’t say it’s the most moisturising but for the price I wasn’t expecting that. I just wore lip balm underneath and it was good to go!
Spicy Red* is a vibrant orangey-red shade with a glossy finish. The pigmentation of this is better than Rosewood. It’s opaque in a couple of swipes, and lasts a couple of hours easily without fading much. You would have to re-apply to ensure the colour stays for the day but again for the price – it does exactly what it says on the tin!
I love that you can experiment with seasonal colour trends with Cien Lipsticks because of the price points. You can pick these up with your weekly grocery shopping, which is a bonus point for those of us who are strapped for time.
