Budget Buy | Collection Little Mix All About The Eyes Palette

Budget eye shadows are definitely having their moment in the sun currently.  There are so many that are great quality and I love that.  I’ve never been one to splash on eye shadows unless they really do something unique or special or I just can’t say no to the packaging (I’m looking at you Kiko!).  So when I came across this palette, I was rather excited.

Collection Little Mix All About The Eyes Palette*, £3.19 comes in a really compact paper packaging, with six shades - Feather, Sunkissed, Golden Sand, Dazzling Brown, Cocoa Dream and Blackbird.  It’s the perfect neutral palette for a neutral eye shadow lover.  You can go for quite a casual day look and transform it to an intense smokey eye.  Firstly, I love the packaging, because it’s so portable.  I went away a couple of times in the last month and this is all I took.  It fits perfectly in any bag, the magnetic palette didn’t make a mess in my handbag so it’s not flimsy at all.

The colour payoff is really, really good.  I was surprised.  For just over £3 – I wasn’t expecting anything at all to be honest.  The swatches show how good the pigmentation is. I wouldn’t describe them as buttery soft, but they are smooth enough blend really easily.  They blend with other shadow really well too.  They four middle shimmery shadows are in fact shimmery and not glittery.  The matte shades, Feather and Blackbird are good matte shades.  They weren’t chalky, nor powdery – I loved hoe evenly they applied and how smooth and blendable they were.

The lasting power is not amazing – but with a primer it lasted around 4 hours for me and I thought that was good enough for the value.  When it creased, I literally just blended the shadows on my lid with my finger and it was good to go.  My favourite shades would have to be Golden Sand and Cocoa Dream – there’s a sizeable dent in Cocoa Dream in my palette!  I used Golden Sand in the inner half of my lids, Cocoa Dream in the outer half and crease and a dab of Blackbird in the very outer corner to intensify the look in the picture.

If you’re looking for something that’s affordable and will see you through the party season – you need this.  You won’t regret it.  I think this’d be such a lovely little stocking filler too!
