Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Collection | Review & Looks

Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Collection - Aspiring Londoner

Let’s face it guys, packaging is errrythaang in makeup.  It enables at least 50% of my purchases if not more!  I have definitely purchased my fair share of Estee Lauder eyeshadow palettes in the past because I just could not pass up on the gold/navy packaging.

It’s not just the packaging with EL, they basically have the full package.  I’ve previously tried their skincare, which I’ll post about soon.  I’ve tried some makeup from them and their ‘Modern Muse’ perfume is one of my favourites!  As Christmas is looming, the makeup lovers among us will be looking at makeup ideas for the festive season or the makeup lovers’ family and friends will be looking for Christmas gift ideas – I bring you EL’s latest launches!

Estee Lauder has one of the best eyeshadow textures I’ve tried.  They are intensely pigmented and brilliant colour payoff.  It has velvet-like texture as applied to the eye lid and blends seamlessly.  I created the below looks with the Envious Orchid* palette.  It’s a purple/silver based palette which is perfect for Autumn/Winter.  As you may have already seen from my GOSH palette post here, I’ve been loving lilac eyeshadow, a lot.

I applied the shimmery silver shade all over my lids up to the crease, then applied the deep purple shade on the outer corner and blended across to the crease.  Then I applied the shimmery shade on the centre of the lid and the inner corner to make the eye ‘pop’.  I finished off with blending what was left on my brush across my bottom lashes and applying 3-4 layers of Maybelline Rocket Mascara (review here).   I didn’t use eye liner as I wanted the focus to be on the eyeshadows and just added intensity with mascara.  On my cheeks, I applied Clinique Blushing Powder Blush in Pink Love, £22.  I kept the lips neutral with a nude lip gloss HD Brows Lip Gloss in Hibiscus*, £15 so the focus remained on the eyes.

The next look focuses on the lips and nails.  It’s quite a bright, bold lip so I went easy on the eyes.  From the same EL palette, I took the off white shimmery shade (next to the silver one) and swept it all over the lid.  Then I took the SEVENTEEN Make Your Mark Soft Eyeliner Pen*, £3.99 and lined my eyes and again applied the same Maybelline mascara.  For blush I used Stila Breast Cancer Awareness Cheek Palette in Positively Pink, £12  as I wanted a pretty flush of pink and a healthy glow to the cheeks.  Last but not least, I applied the EL Pure Colour Envy Sculpting Lipstick in Tumultuous Pink* straight from the bullet.  This lipstick has the most creamiest formula I’ve ever known!  It’s so moisturising and nourishing to my lips, I don’t need to apply anything before or after to hydrate my lips.  The colour payoff is brilliant with just one swipe as you can see in the photo.  If you want lip care and colour in one product, look no further.  It’s great for this season as it kept my lips moisturised throughout the day and the colour stayed put despite the creamy texture.  I can’t even tell you how much I love this.  I think I need Envious next!

Estee Lauder Pure Color Nail Lacquer in Love Bites Swatch - Aspiring Londoner

To match my lips, my nails were adorned in Estee Lauder Pure Color Nail Lacquer in Love Bites*, £20.  The formula is opaque in one coat, but I applied two coats to intensify the colour.  It stayed chip free (without any top coat) for 4 days until I removed it!  This look was all about colour and statement lips and nails, so everything else was quite understated.  P.S. for brows, I used MAC’s Eye Brow Crayon in Spiked, £13.50.

Hope you enjoyed the looks!  I absolutely adore the Estee Lauder products I used, and the lipstick has absolutely blown me away!  I need more, pronto!
