Let’s face it guys, packaging is errrythaang in makeup. It enables at least 50% of my purchases if not more! I have definitely purchased my fair share of Estee Lauder eyeshadow palettes in the past because I just could not pass up on the gold/navy packaging.
It’s not just the packaging with EL, they basically have the full package. I’ve previously tried their skincare, which I’ll post about soon. I’ve tried some makeup from them and their ‘Modern Muse’ perfume is one of my favourites! As Christmas is looming, the makeup lovers among us will be looking at makeup ideas for the festive season or the makeup lovers’ family and friends will be looking for Christmas gift ideas – I bring you EL’s latest launches!
Estee Lauder has one of the best eyeshadow textures I’ve tried. They are intensely pigmented and brilliant colour payoff. It has velvet-like texture as applied to the eye lid and blends seamlessly. I created the below looks with the Envious Orchid* palette. It’s a purple/silver based palette which is perfect for Autumn/Winter. As you may have already seen from my GOSH palette post here, I’ve been loving lilac eyeshadow, a lot.
I applied the shimmery silver shade all over my lids up to the crease, then applied the deep purple shade on the outer corner and blended across to the crease. Then I applied the shimmery shade on the centre of the lid and the inner corner to make the eye ‘pop’. I finished off with blending what was left on my brush across my bottom lashes and applying 3-4 layers of Maybelline Rocket Mascara (review here). I didn’t use eye liner as I wanted the focus to be on the eyeshadows and just added intensity with mascara. On my cheeks, I applied Clinique Blushing Powder Blush in Pink Love, £22. I kept the lips neutral with a nude lip gloss HD Brows Lip Gloss in Hibiscus*, £15 so the focus remained on the eyes.
