GOSH 9 Shades 'To Enjoy In New York' Palette #AW14Trends Look

GOSH 9 Shades Eye Shadow Palette To Enjoy In New York - Aspiring Londoner

Keeping with my #AW14Trends, I bring you first of my eye shadow looks.  On the AW14 Chloe runways, Diane Kendal created a lilac/taupe eye shadow look which really caught my eye.  It's a lovely way to add some colour with a neutral shade.

I've created an inspired look using the GOSH 9 Shades Shadow Collection Palette in 'To Enjoy in New York'*, £9.99 (available in Superdrug stores only).  The palette contains a mixture of lilac/pink/brown/taupe shadows which initially I thought to be a strange mix - but they're actually very complementary.  The packaging is typical of GOSH Cosmetics - a matte black.  The palette fits perfectly within the palm of my hands and has a pretty large mirror on the inside of the lid; this makes it the perfect travelling companion.  Annoyingly, the shades don't have individual names so I'm gonna have to number them for you guys!

I haven’t tried eye shadows from GOSH before, but I’m impressed with the pigmentation and the smooth formula.  Despite the high street price tag, the eye shadows aren’t chalky/powdery and glide on smoothly on the lid.  They blend together really well.  I’ve lugged this palette around in my travel makeup bag for all of August, it’s easily one of my favourites!

To create this look, I applied shade 1 all over my lids using my MAC 217 blending brush.  Then I layered on shade 6 all over my lid too.  To create depth to the look, I applied shade 5 and shade 9 on the outer corner of my eyes and blended shade 8 across the crease line.  I also lightly applied shade 5 on the lower lash line.  Then I took shade 1 again and very lightly dusted it in the inner corner of my eyes and on my brow bone.  That’s pretty much it!  The camera didn’t quite capture how vibrant shade 6 looked on the lid and how well it blended and complemented shade 9!  I’m gonna have to try and do this more!

I went in with lashing of black mascara to contrast with my lilac/taupe eye shadow and lined my upper lash line with the Sleek MakeUp Eau La La Liner in Cocoa*, £4.99.  I really liked this colour combination as the lilac gives it a feminine touch yet the taupe shade makes it really wearable and casual.  The brown eye liner keeps the look soft.
