One of the many things I love about blogging is finding
cheaper alternatives to expensive products that I love. It makes it easier on the purse strings to
and enables me to repurchase the product often!
Today’s product is something I pretty much use on a daily basis, a nude
eyeliner.
I was sent the Pixi
Eye Bright Liner in Nude*, £10.50 and instantly fell in love with its
creamy formula, velvety texture and brilliant colour payoff. I started using it everyday to line my lower
waterline. However at around £11 a
pencil, it was going to be an expensive love affair! I was dreading the thought of having to
repurchase it. I had a heard a lot about
the Rimmel
ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Liner in Nude, £3.99; however a part of
me was dubious as drugstore eyeliners tend to be a little hit and miss. I have previously bought eyeliners from the
highstreet only to find that the formula was waxy, it dragged the skin and the
colour payoff was next to none.
On a whim, I purchased mine and was absolutely over the
moon to realise the hype was real around this product! The formula is pretty much the same as the
Pixi eye liner, the pigmentation and colour payoff is incredible, and all for
under £4! It stays put just as well as
the Pixi one. You can’t not have this in your makeup bag. It’s every bit as good as it’s more expensive
counterpart, and for a quarter of the price, it’s a steal! If you had to pick something to improve, the
Pixi eyeliner is a wind up mechanism
one, whereas you have to sharpen the
Rimmel one. Considering the price and
the quality of the product, this is not an issue for me, definitely not a deal
breaker!
I’ve since gotten couple more colours from the Rimmel
range, the silver one is brilliant, see it in action in this post. I really want the cobalt blue colour, but it
is always out of stock! I can imagine it looking amazing on the
bottom lash line.
What’s your go to eyeliner pencil for
everyday? Have you tried the Rimmel
Exaggerate eyeliners or the Pixi eye liners?
