Tesco beauty aisles have recently caught my attention. The reason being, we’ve never had a Tesco around us with a proper beauty aisle, but now there’s a pretty big one (see my #TescoBeautyHaul here)! Barbara Daly, the makeup artist launched her makeup line back in 1998, and now it has a new name and a new feel! Introducing BD Trade Secrets!
Tesco worked with makeup artist Abby Ireland to revamp the collection. Having never tried the brand before, I was really interested in trying out the products. My first favourite of the products would be the BD Trade Secrets Velvet Cream Lipstick in Runway*, £5.99. It’s a bright red shade appropriate for the party season, and the formula is moisturising too. The colour pay-off is really great as the swatch shows. This was just one swipe! It’s not too glossy, but has a nice shiny finish. The longevity is around four hours without food/drink, but you can always reapply! At this price point it’s a great little lip product!
Another favourite of mine is the BD Trade Secrets Velvet Powder Cheek Colour in Flirt*, £4.99. The colour is a very naturaldusky pink colour, which I think can be work all year round. The formula of the blush powder is really fine; I was surprised as at this sort of price point, the quality is incredible. The finish was matte, which I love in blushes. I’m not a massive fan of glittery/shimmery blushers so this for everyday use is perfect! The packaging is impressive and functional. I hate blusher packaging that you have to open to see the colours every time!
The complete range includes foundation, powders, lip products, eye shadows and much more. You can see the full range here.
