Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors

Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector Review - Aspiring Londoner

Over hyped products are quite the norm in the blogosphere and this always makes me rather sceptical when it comes to giving into a hyped product.  Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors have been raved and raved about most bloggers and YouTubers and I was torn.

It’s lip gloss in a tube, how good can it be, I asked myself.  When I tried them, I could see why these have taken up permanent places in most peoples’ makeup bags.  The packaging I wasn’t very keen on to begin with as I think the foam applicator might get grubby.  But it’s been fine – it’s just a bigger lipgloss doe-foot type applicator.  You squeeze the tube and the product is released through the foam applicator.  It’s really handy for travelling and just generally using out and about.  The colours are sheer and ranges from pinks to peaches to nudes.

Top: 05 Candy Shimmer, Bottom: 06 Rosewood Shimmer

I adore the shades 05 Candy Shimmer* and 06 Rosewood Shimmer*.  Candy Shimmer is a lovely pink that adds a nice tint of pink to my lips but allows my actual lip colour through.  Rosewood Shimmer is a brown-y nude, perfect for a complete nude glossy lip for me.  Despite the names, I actually can’t see any shimmers on the balm, just a high shine glossy finish!  The outer packaging is close to the product colour which I also love, as you can easily pick the colour from your ever-growing lip product stash!

The range of colours is really neutral and appropriate for daily wear.  I’ve been pairing it with a really intense smoky eye as it works so well.  The best thing about this is the moisturising factor – I could not believe how well it keeps my lips moisturised throughout the day.  If I was to compare, I’d say it’s close to my all-time favourite Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm (review here)!  It’s incredibly moisturising and really lasts through the day.  Even after lunch I could feel that my lips were not dry.  The gloss and colour faded but my lips were soft and supple.   The formula is not at all sticky, so no hair stuck on your lips issues!  Not to mention how delectable they smell – I’m rubbish at describing scents, but I’d say it’s a cross between warm cookie dough and chocolate...sold! I’m very impressed by the lip perfectors and they have found a permanent home in my hand bag.  I’m pretty sure I’m gonna have the full collection in my possession soon!  If anyone’s looking for stocking fillers for Christmas – this will earn you a lotta brownie points!
