The hype around No7 Protect & Perfect Advanced Serum
30ml*, £23.95 is unreal. I’ve
been hearing how amazing this serum is for months and couldn’t help but be a
little intrigued. I’ve been trialling it
for a few weeks, read on to hear my verdict!
I like the packaging as it’s in a hygienic and plastic
tube. Glass bottles are luxurious but
just are too heavy and you have to be too careful with them. I much prefer this style of packaging. The texture is really, really light. It almost instantly disappears when I apply
to my skin and leaves it velvety smooth to touch. It’s fragrance-free and contains active
ingredients to tackle blemishes too.
To be honest, I didn’t feel like the serum made a huge
difference to my skin in terms of its anti-ageing claims. It makes my makeup application much smoother
and makes my skin ‘look’ smoother as a result.
However I didn’t feel like it left any lasting effects. I have some very fine line on my forehead
that appeared to be smooth after application; however I don’t feel the effect
was long-lasting. I did feel it helped
my skin look brighter and helped my skin appear smooth. As a result, my makeup looked more flawless
than usual.
No7 Protect and Perfect claims to be a ‘powerful
prevention’; it’s sometimes difficult to know if a product in the long-term has
had an effect as you won’t know until later.
On that premise, I think it’s a good product for the price as there are
products that claim to do similar things and do nothing. Also, skincare is a personal thing, no skin
is the same and some friends of mine swear by this serum! So there’s definitely truth to the hype.
I think it’s definitely worth a try, especially if you’re
picking it up as part of No7 Christmas sets, you get incredible value! Also when Boots do the No7 voucher offers,
it’s a great time to try a new product out.
