Pür Minerals Dirty Girl Detoxifying Mudd Masque Review

Pür Minerals Dirty Girl Detoxifying Mudd Masque Review - Aspiring Londoner

Are you even surprised to see another face mask on AL?  I can’t help myself, I see a face mask and my brain is like, you need to try that *insert heart eyed emoji*.  Pur Minerals is not a brand I’m really familiar with.  However it has been around for a decade in the USA apparently and recently graced our shores!

The Pur Minerals Dirty Girl Detoxifying Mudd Mask with Pascalite Clay promises to visibly unclog pores, clarify and gently exfoliate all skin types!  This was quite interesting as I haven’t come across many mud masks that work for all skin types.  The pascalite clay, a form of calcium bentonite helps to unclogs pores and eliminates excess oil, dirt and impurities.  The mask also contains cucumber extract which soothes and calms your skin from any irritants and lastly salicylic acid gently exfoliates and keeps blemishes at bay.

The mask is brown/red in colour, and has quite a thick texture.  The mask feels quite exfoliating as you apply it, it almost feels like there are micro exfoliating particles which actually feels quite nice.  As the mask contains lavender, rosemary and sandalwood extract, you get a very subtle scent of the blend.  It’s pleasant and does not offend my sensitive sense of smell, so it shouldn’t bother you at all.  I applied a generous layer (not thick) all over my face and waited until cracks appeared (as instructed on the packaging).  This took about 20 minutes for me.

However when the mask was drying, I could not move my face at all!  It was completely rigid and felt like my face was shrinking!  It was quite discomforting, but I persevered (in the name of beauty!) and waited until it was fully dry.  I had to use a hot cloth to remove the mask as simply rinsing with water would take a while to get it off.  Afterwards, my skin felt silky smooth.  There wasn’t any tight feeling to the skin (as there was when it was drying!).  It was so amazing that I kept touching my face to feel the softness!  The texture of my skin felt really even and my face just looked a lot brighter.  And this was just after one use!  I was extremely pleased with the result, but the discomfort whilst using it did put me off applying it to my whole face.  Because of the great result, I now only apply to problem areas of my skin where I feel the mask can really help rather than applying it all over.  I’d highly recommend this to people suffering with rough skin and blemishes.
