When I was 17, I randomly walked into a Superdrug and got talked into having a skin consultation. After much prodding with some kind of a device on my skin, I was told I have very dehydrated skin and desperately need an eye cream. Being 17 and completely clueless, I bought the first eye cream I could find and from that night onwards, I slathered my eye area (quite generously, might I add) with said eye cream.

Over the past year, I’ve become an avid fan of hot cloth cleansers. I don’t think I can ever go back to removing makeup AND cleaning my face with one wash off gel cleanser. I just couldn’t! These are the cleansers I have in my stash currently, so I wanted to pull together my thoughts on them all for you.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar 3-Step Anti-Blemish System*, £32.50 is probably one of the most awaited skincare launch of the year. Well, it certainly was for me! I’m a massive, massive fan of LRP skincare and I’ve converted half my family to the LRP way. I can’t praise their products enough! That being said, I was a little sceptical about the 3-step system, as I have previously tried these ‘systems’ before which left me underwhelmed. But as a true LRP fangirl, I needed to know if it lived up to their other products.

Last couple of years, Boots have launched campaigns to encourage women to step out of their comfort zone, to try something new with their makeup looks. This year their campaign was focussed on 28 ways to Give It A Go (#GiveItAGoDaily). There are 28 suggestions including trying a new shade of lipstick, green nail polish, contouring and rainbow coloured eyeliners! I will share some of these with you in the coming weeks…keep your eyes peeled!

Welcome to AW14 Trend Week! One of the key trends that graced the AW14 runways were lightly contoured yet defined facial features (created for Valentino, source: Vogue). Whilst we don’t have the likes of Pat McGrath to hand to create the look, we can recreate the looks using products available in the beauty aisles.

Nail polishes are one of those things that I feel guilty about spending too much money on. I just feel that it don't 'benefit' me as such like a skincare product might. It's basically paint for your nails, that doesn't penetrate the skin or the nails so why spend a fortune?! This means in always on the lookout for budget nail polishes that will do the job. So long as there are good colour range, good lasting power and applies well - I'm not fussed!

In our daily lives, most of the times we're out and about. Be it work, shopping or running errands, we spend a lot of time in the external environment where we are exposed to all sorts of bacteria especially when we're touching door handles, shaking hands or surfaces on public transport. We can't stop going out altogether in the fear of this but try to minimise our exposure to harmful substances.

Welcome to #Hands&Tips! This week I’m going to bring you all things hands and nails. We use our hands all day for all sorts work like cleaning, eating, lifting etc. but do we look after them enough? I’m guilty of washing my hands multiples times throughout the day and not applying hand cream on. This has resulted in paper-like skin on my hands. So I now make a conscious effort to leave hand creams in every corner of my house to ensure I do use hand cream!

Being a beauty blogger, I try many many lipsticks. They vary in price range from around £5 at Boots/Superdrug to an eye-watering £36 (if you’re a Tom Ford fan, you know what I’m sayin’!). Having said that, not everyone is a beauty blogger and not everyone wants to own every shade of red lipstick ever made. For people who want to try different colours, but aren’t big lipstick wearers or even just wants a bold shade for a season but doesn’t want to spend a lot – this brand is for you!

Before last year, I had never used lip liners. It always felt like an unnecessary step to me. I really didn’t see the point. During one of Boots No7 voucher promotions, I decided to give lip liners a go and purchased No7 Precision Lips Pencil, £6.75 in Fire and Blush. Fire is a true red colour and Blush is a rose pink. I wear a lot of red lipsticks so it made sense to go for a red and the pink was quite muted so just more of a nude shade for me.
