Review | Cargo Cosmetics Northern Lights Eyeshadow Palette

Cargo Cosmetics Northern Lights Eyeshadow Palette Review - Aspiring Londoner

I’m slowly getting back into eyeshadows again.  Recently I’ve been playing around with the CargoCosmetics Northern Lights Eyeshadow Palette.  It is luxury in a palette!

First of all, that packaging is just beyond chic.  I’ve never looked at an eyeshdow palette and thought I need to put that on some sort of a display, but the thought crossed my mind when I saw this palette.  Just chic!  The outer packaging is some sort of faux leather, and the inner packaging is cardboard.  It has a good sized mirror inside with a very functional dual ended brush, a blending brush and a definer brush.  It’s perfect for travelling as I wouldn’t bother to take eyeshadow brushes for this palette.

The shadows are mostly shimmery with a few matte shadows thrown in.  Every single shadow has amazing colour payoff, the pigmentation is very rich.  The best way I can describe the texture is, think butter melting on your lids, I don’t say this lightly!  You need only to touch your brush onto the shadows and it picks up a lot of product.  Slight downside to this, there is fall out when you apply it.  But as always, tissue on your under eye area will catch sort that issue out.

I found the shadows really easy to blend because of such soft formula and they feel really light on your lids too.  In terms of longevity, with a primer, I found them to last around 6 hours.  I would like to try them out with something like MAC Fix Plus or Urban Decay All Nighter spray to see if that helps.  My favourite shades from the palette would have to be Caspian Sea, Arctic and Reindeer, beautiful!

This is a great alternative to something like the Lorac Pro Palette, which us, UK beauty lovers are dying to get hold of but can’t!  Shade wise there are similar shades to the two lorac pro palettes (not dupes at all, just similar!).  It's a great palette this winter and you'll be able to use the shimmers and metallic shades in summer too.  Currently the Northern Lights Palette is on offer with 30% off at Debenhams, so hurry if you're thinking of picking it up!
