Benefit Roller Lash Mascara Review

Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Mascara Review & Demo - Aspiring Londoner

Roller Lash has been the most hyped about mascara of 2015 (so far!).  Benefit’sRoller Lash Mascara promises to ‘grab, separate, lift and curl’ all in one!  As a true mascara enthusiast, I’ve put it to the test.

I was a little sceptical about this as I wasn’t a fan of ‘They’re Real’ mascara.  I know a lot of people loved it, but somehow it just didn’t work for me, the brush, the formula – nothing.  The brush for the Roller Lash mascara is a plastic, which is great for definition.  I always find plastic brushes really separate and coat almost every lash individually.  The shape of the brush is quite different in how the bristles are shaped.  It’s almost has the shape of an eyelash, with the inner curve consisting of shorter bristles and the outer curve with longer, more comb like bristles.  I thought this was pretty genius as I use the inner side first to get to the roots of my lashes and give them the lift they need to really curl my lashes.  Then I use the outer curve to separate and define my lashes and go in for second coats.

I much prefer the formula of Roller Lash in comparison to They’re Real.  It is ever so slightly thicker in consistency yet coats your lashes without clumping at all.  I find even when I apply a second coat, there’s no clumping of lashes.  Couple of tips for getting the best result out of Roller Lash – a) if you use a lash curler before applying this mascara, you get the most amazing curl and it really holds too; b) make sure you allow the first coat of mascara to dry before going in with a second coat, this gives a lot volume to the lashes without any clumps at all!

Another thing I love about Roller Lash is that it is significantly easier to remove than They’re Real!  You don’t have to rub your eyes whatsoever, just hold a cotton pad soaked with Bioderma for 10 second and you’ll be well rid of it!  Love!  Final verdict?  I’m really loving Roller Lash, it’s probably the one mascara that has been able to hold the curl for my eye lashes and do all the other things I want a mascara to do!  Well done Benefit, you can definitely pat yourself on the back for this one!

P.S. You can pick up a sample size of Benefit Cosmetics’ Roller Lash mascara with Elle March 2015 magazine!
