Best of Smashbox Review - Aspiring Londoner

Smashbox is one of my favourite brands.  This is because couple of years ago, I had a makeover at one of their counters and was amazed at the quality and the longevity of the products.  I’m a massive fan of their primer range too.

I wanted share some of my favourite products from Smashbox if you’re looking to buy something.  One of my favourite foundations is Smashbox Liquid Halo HD Foundation.  I love the liquid light formula yet the great coverage it gives.  It photographs really well, gives me a very airbrushed look.  It lasts well on my oily/combination skin.  The colour match is pretty perfect for me.  A great foundation.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water is one of their new products.  As I loved the other primers, I was really keen to try this.  I wasn’t disappointed at all!  The primer water is designed to hydrate and give radiance to the skin.  There are no silicone, oil or alcohol so you don’t feel like something is on your skin.  You can use it as a primer, as a setting spray or to refresh your makeup through the day.  I like it as a primer and to set my makeup.  I love how fine the mist is so you can hardly feel that you’ve basically sprayed your face with water.  Because of my oily/combination skin, I tend to use mattifying products and powders which causes my skin to look somewhat ‘flat’.  This helps my skin to look like skin i.e. dewy without looking sweaty or a mess!  As a setting spray, again the fine mist ensures that my makeup isn’t interfered with; I’m gonna love using this in the summer!

Next two products are lip products, are you even surprised?!  Smashbox Always Sharp Lip Liners ‘sharply’ made it to the top of mu favourites due to the face that is does always stay sharp!  There’s nothing more annoying than blunt lip liners which means you can’t get a precise line.  There is something in the lid of the liners that sharpens the tip when you twist to open the lid. Genius!  The lip liners have great colour pay off and really last and stops products bleeding, like the Smashbox Be Legendary Long-Wear Lip Lacquers.  The colours are vibrant and intense.  The formula is creamy yet light, they have a high glossy finish.  The shade Legendary, paired with black winged liners and thick voluminous lashes is just the perfect glam 50’s makeup.  I adore these lacquers!

Smashbox Lip Lacquer Legendary Swatch & Lip Liner Crimson Swatch - Aspiring Londoner

I won’t go on too much about this last one, as I’ve already reviewed it in full here.  The Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer is one of the only things that do anything for my oily lids.  Pretty much any eyeshadow slides off my lids, but a little bit of this really helps the shadow to ‘stick’ to my lids.  Even if I’m not wearing eyeshadow, it helps to neutralise the skin on my lids from any redness.  This stuff is for keeps!
