Sheet masks seem to be all over the place right now. Naturally, I needed to investigate. I’ve never tried sheet masks before and frankly the concept frightened me a little! I accept that sounds odd, but having something extra on my face for 15 odd minutes...what if the product drips on my clothes, or my skin starts reacting and I can’t see?! The horror!
Of course my curiosity got the better of me, and I put my apprehension aside. I decided to try something hydrating to begin with. Indeed Labs Hydraluron (review here) is one of my favourite serums and this made me want to try the Indeed Labs Hydraluron Moisture Boosting Mask, £19.99.
My initial thought was that it’s quite expensive, £20 for 4 masks so that’s £5 per mask. Obviously this raised my expectation of the mask’s performance. The outer packaging and the sachets both have the instructions which is helpful, as I always throw away outer packaging. The instructions are very straightforward, apply the sheet mask on cleansed skin and leave for 15 minutes. You have to press the mask on with your finger to ensure it’s in contact with your skin, especially around your nose area where it’s kind of tricky. I also had to ‘press out’ the eye areas so I could see! It was an odd feeling using it for the first time, but by the second time, I knew what to expect and it felt easier to use.
The sheet mask is basically drenched with the product and it works to penetrate your skin better in a way. The best thing about this mask is that you don’t need to wipe or wash your face after use. You just massage the product (which I suspect is a form of the Hydraluron serum) into your skin and you’re done! I even rubbed the sheet mask on the back of my hands to not waste the product. I can honestly say, no mask/moisturiser/anything has ever made my skin as soft as this did. I was just speechless; it may have even been softer than a baby’s bum, if that’s possible! I couldn’t stop wanting to touch my face! If you have quite dry, dehydrated skin or getting persistent dry patches, you need to try this out. It gave me such intense hit of hydration that I could feel the effect even days after.
I will have this in my stash for days when my skin looks lacklustre or feeling dry after a long day out, to put the moisture back into my skin. It’s not something I’d use every week, maybe once a month which makes the price okay for me. Indeed Labs, here’s a pat on the back from me for yet another genius product!
