I have loved Rimmel for as long as I remember. Their liquid liner was the first proper makeup I bought at the age of 16, and I’ve been loyal ever since! I’ve previously raved about the Rimmel GlamEyes Liquid Eye Liner (review here), the Rimmel ScandalEyes Kohl Liner in Nude (review here), the Rimmel Provocalips Lip Colours (review here) and the Rimmel Soft Kohl Pencil in Jet Black (review here). As I’ve raved enough about this products, I wanted to share some other products that I think are absolutely amazing from Rimmel.
Up until recently I hadn’t tried any of their base products as I never quite found the right shade for my skin tone. However when I swatched the Rimmel Match Perfection foundations, they seemed to have the warm undertones that my skin needs. Shade 400 Natural Beige is a very good match to my skin, I love the creamy formula and the medium to full coverage the foundation gives. The finish is quite satin which I like as it doesn’t look too much on my oily/combination skin. It gives quite a flawless finish without looking cakey. The packaging is great and the bottle comes with a pump. At £7, it’s a fantastic foundation and the shade range is better than a lot of other high street brands. Love this foundation!
I mentioned this powder in a my ‘5 Under £5’ post. It’s great powder for oil and shine control. It doesn’t make my makeup look cakey nor looks powdery on my skin. The powder is fine and really blends into the skin to take away the shine. It sets and keeps my makeup looking fresh for longer. At this price point, it’s a great product. It has definitely replaced my much more expensive MAC skin finish powder that I loved! If you’re looking for a no-fuss product to resolve oiliness, then you need to give this powder a go!
Years ago I tried a Rimmel blush and didn’t like it. Recently in the name of beauty research, I picked up another Rimmel Mono Blush in 020 Pink Rose. It’s such a lovely blush! I can’t believe I haven’t been using them all along! The powder formulation is fine, it blends really well on top of foundation. The colour payoff is just right with the hint of a pink and sheen-y finish that gives a healthy glow to the cheeks. I’m going to be picking up all the shades as the dinky size makes it perfect for travel.
Who hasn’t heard of the Rimmel Lip Liner in Eastend Snob?! Whenever I went to Boots to pick it up, it was always out of stock! After months of stalking my local Boots Rimmel stand, I finally got the last one. It’s a really nice pink that almost leans towards mauve. I love the formula as it’s creamy enough not to feel dry, yet doesn’t smudge. I love pairing this with the Makeup Revolution Amazing Lipstick in Treat. Literally the best nude colour combination ever!
Another Rimmel beauty I’ve loved for some time. The Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick in 107 (swatch here) is an oldie but a goodie. It’s a lipstick I qhip out whenever I want to go for a glamourous lip but not a red lip. It’s a versatile colour that you can dab and smudge for a berry stained lip or go all out for a deep wine colour. The formula is light, creamy with a matte finish. It doesn’t dry the lips out or cling to the crevices of your lips. It’s a classic that every girl should have in her collection!
I discovered this last year and instantly fell in love with the mascara. You can see the demo of the Rimmel Rockin’ Curves Extreme Black Mascara here. I love the curve of the mascara wand as it lifts the lashes from the roots. The bristles coat each lashes and gives amazingly voluminous lashes. By lifting the roots, the lashes stay curled and gives great results. Definitely one of the best mascaras on the high street!
Rimmel is such a great brand that I struggled to narrow down the best products. What’s your favourite Rimmel product? Tell me what I need to try in the comments below or tweet me @aspiring_london!
