The worst thing for me with having
lighter hair colour is the maintenance.
My hair tends to go brassy and look a strange shade of red after a few
days. So I wanted something that could
help the colour stay and retain that just coloured shine. I’ve loved John Frieda Frizz Ease collection
for a long time, so wanted to try out the Brilliant Brunette Range.
The John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Liquid Shine Illuminating Shampoo and Conditioner for all brunettes stood out
to me because of the description. The
‘liquid shine’ instantly gave me an image of my hair being the shiniest most
vibrant it has ever been!
The packaging is really nice, I love
that it comes in the large tubes rather than bottles as you don’t hae to turn
it upside down towards the end; that’s a pain in itself. The shampoo is clear in colour and has a
fluid gel consistency. It smells really nice without being ‘too scented’;
it lathers up really well and leaves my hair feeling clean. Not squeaky clean
(which it never should be), just nice
and clean. Then I go in with the Brilliant Brunette Conditioner, it’s white in colour and has a lot of shimmer in it. It’s not something that you can feel or see
once on your hair, so don’t be worried.
The consistency is again fluid without being completely liquid. I knew I’d love the conditioner as I
absolutely love the frizz ease conditioner. Makes my hair amazingly soft and my hair looks
healthy too. I’ve used this since I
coloured my hair so about 3 weeks now and the colour looks just as vibrant as
it did the first day. I’m really happy
with the result!
If I’m adding waves to my hair, or styling it, I add a little bit of the John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Liquid Shine Shine Shock Perfecting Glosser when my hair is wet. I only add to the ends, as the heat can make my hair look dull but this acts as a serum to sort any flyaways and makes my hair glossy. Yes, glossy! This has a gel consistency and shimmer in the product, but once applied you can’t see shimmer at all. As the shimmer catches light, hair looks amazing!
I’m absolutely obsessed with hair stuff at the moment! I feel like having the chop has just reminded me how much fun you can have with short hair. I always had to tie up my hair for work, wrapping up for the cold, whereas now it’s all about texture, styling; the world is my (hair’s) oyster! You can expect a lot more hair related posts as I’m having a whole lot of fun styling my hair!
