Bath salts were such a thing last year! I remember everyone and their dog raving
about a certain bath salt that had an eye-watering price tag. I must say, a part of me did want to try it
out – I mean who doesn’t want to be instantly relaxed and sleep like a
baby? But I just couldn’t bring myself
to part with that kind of cash! Fast forward a year, I got the chance to try out the Dr Salts Relax Therapy Bath Salts with Rose (£6.99).
I was impressed that
you actually get 1kg salt for this price compared to a lot of other much higher
priced products claiming to do the same thing.
The Dr Salts Bath Salts contain 21 different types of minerals including
magnesium that soothes aching muscles; iodine that helps to draw toxins from
your skin and bromide that can help with any skin issues. For me, I just wanted a good night’s sleep!
I usually use a handful in my bath and instantly you can
smell the pleasant rose fragrance, it’s not overpowering or too floral, not the
artificial kind. The salts dissolved
easily into the bath water, they don’t add bubbles to your bath so I added just
a normal bubble bath for bubbles. I went
to bed an hour after my bath and almost instantly fell asleep! This was probably the most surprising thing,
as usually it takes at least an hour for my brain to switch off thinking about
all the pointless things in the world. I
slept really well too, I was so surprised the next morning as my aches from my
run the day before wasn’t as severe either.
I almost felt guilty for doubting the effects! I love relaxing bath products because after
the gym or even on a weekend, there’s nothing like soaking in the bath and just
feeling blissful afterwards. I didn’t
want to spend big bucks on bath salts and someone mentioned Epson salts, which
I couldn’t find anywhere! I’m so pleased
to have discovered this as it’s really easy to get hold of (available in
Sainsbury’s, Waitrose etc), works a treat for a decent night’s sleep and helps
me to relax after my workouts!
