Thanks to Kim K, contouring is an everyday step in most women’s
makeup routine. We have had an influx of
contouring products and I for one find it quite difficult to find the perfect
products. The struggle for the right
tools and the perfect colour to match your skin tone is real!
I have come across just the product that has made me say,
yes, I can do this too! Topshop Contour Cream (£9) combined with the Real Techniques Collector’s Edition Sculpting Set (£20.99) has been the
answer to my prayers.
The Topshop Contour Cream in Swerve is the perfect shade to add definition to my rather un-sculpted
face. It’s a cool toned brown colour
that’s just dark enough to create shadows to the contours of my face without
being too dark. The cream formulation
allows me to build up colour without looking cakey and gives a natural finish. It is perfect for medium/olive toned skin
tones. You can set the cream contour
with a light dusting of powder, and it doesn’t move at all. For lighter skin, they have the shade Sweep; however I do feel they should
have added more shades to the range to cater for more skin tones.
The Sculpting
Brush from the Real Techniques Collector’s Edition Sculpting Set is the tool to create the perfect contour
even a novice like me. It’s angled to
fit the contour of your face; the brush haurs are dense enough to deposit
colour to your skin yet it as the slight fluffiness so you can blend out the
contour product. It’s absolute
perfection! I am a little inept in using
the fan brush, but I cannot believe I didn’t have the Setting Brush in my life!
It‘s the best thing ever to apply concealer under your eyes and apply
highlighter! I’m going to get a couple
of backups because it’s versatile and I’d be lost without it!
What makes these the perfect products for creating a
perfect contoured look? They’re easy to
use, they do a lot of the work for you so you don’t have to, and you only need
3 affordable products!
