The GOSH Crazy Volume Mascara has a massive brush with a mix of long and short bristles. This ultimately helps to really separate my lashes. The shorter bristles really work to lift the lashes at the roots. The formula of the mascara is thick enough to hold the length, i.e. it's not too watery. The mascara lasts really well through the day and I haven't noticed any flaking or any smudging, even from my lower lashes. It's really easy to remove using any kind of eye makeup remover.
The only little issue I have is that it doesn't layer too well. I'd say you can safely apply two coats but on the third coat, you risk clumping. You'll see this in the demo picture below, you can see clumping on my left eye lashes. In comparison, if you look at my right eye lashes, they look amazing! The definition, length and volume is all there!
Bourjois do great mascaras, so I really don't know why I didn't try this as soon as I got my hands on it! The bristles on the Bourjois Volume Glamour Push Up Mascara is similar in size to the GOSH mascara. However the bristles are finer and not as densely packed. The longer bristles are almost like a comb which helps to ensure you don't get clumping. The shorter bristles lifts the lashes from the roots; the alternate sized bristles really help to coat every lash and this adds to the volumising effect.
What I love more about the Bourjois Mascara is that it's really build-able without any kind of clumping. It lasts all day and holds the volume and curl. You can see that my lashes are almost touching my brows! This doesn't flake or smudge either, and is really easy to remove. I couldn't fault it in any way!
