I feel like every year Spring goes way too fast, and I
hardly have time to enjoy it. This year,
it seems to be here for longer. Did that
make sense?! I don’t know, but the gist
is for once I feel like I can enjoy Spring without constant rain and cold! This also means I’ve had the chance to
significantly change up my makeup routine and the products that I use. I’ve already mentioned my favourite Spring/Summer base products here.
Pretty much on a daily basis, I’ve been using the Kiko Cosmetics Modern Tribes Sunproof BB Cream. It’s really effortless to use and just feels
like moisturiser. The added SPF also
means I don’t have to use another product.
For just running errands and for a ‘not too made up’ face, I’ve been
loving this!
Due to the warmth, my cheeks do flush so I forego blush
nowadays quite a lot. For quite natural,
minimal eye makeup I’ve been reaching for Estee Lauder Little Black Primer.
It gives the curl, the length and the definition I want without looking
like I have a lot of mascara on. In fact
it looks like I have nothing on my lashes, it’s an amazing, amazing product – I
couldn’t recommend this enough! Just to
add a little more definition, I go in with the Clarins Waterproof Eye Liner Pencil in 01 Black (£17).
I draw quite a thick rough line along my lash line and smudge with my
fingers. This gives a quite day
appropriate smokey effect to the eyes without looking like I have put a lot of
effort in. I’ve been loving this eye
pencil a lot recently, I put it to the ultimate test and wore it on my
waterline to the gym! Guess what? No
smudging whatsoever! Really good for
your waterline or even as eyeliner, as it sets and just doesn’t move, even on
my oily lids.
To finish everything off, I apply a moisturising
lipstick, one of my recent favourite has been Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Shine Lipstick in Inspiring (£25). The formula is really moisturising and
creamy. It keeps my lips soft through
the day and the colour is amazing for the sunny weather. It’s a light pink with a touch of mauve, you
know I’ve been into mauve recently. This
totally fits into the effortless look as it goes with any look.
As the Kiko BB Cream is quite dewy, I’ve been setting my
makeup with a setting spray rather than powder.
My weapon of choice has been Clarins Fix’ Make-up Refreshing Mist (£23).
It not only sets my makeup so I don’t look like a grease ball an hour
later, but also keeps that dewiness of the BB cream. I love the sleek packaging, the glass bottle
does mean it’s a little clunky for putting in your handbag. As it’s not a huge bottle, it’s not too
bad. I use it around midday to add a little
moisture back into my skin and keep that dewiness of my makeup. A fantastic product as the weather is getting
warmer, it’s already made it into my bag as a permanent product!
