Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick in Ole Flamingo (£8.99)
Everyone and their mother loves these, so I feel a little bad for saying I'm on the fence on these offerings from Bourjois. There are a couple of shades that I like which work for me, whereas others look gloopy and patchy on my! And the smell...I really don't know how people stand the smell?
Anyway, Ole Flamingo is one of the shades that do work on me. I love the vibrancy of the shade, it's bright and the blue undertones really compliment the olive undertones of my skin. The formula is light and once set, does not budge. As it's quite a bright colour, you do have to be quite careful when you apply so not to get it over your lips. It does leave a stain so you don't want that. To sum up, this particular one, I love, but are not fans of some of the other shades.
Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Shine Lipstick in Inspiring (£25)
EL are on a mission to bankrupt me somewhat. with their lipsticks hitting it out of the park. I loved the Pure Color Envy original lipsticks with their creamy, nourishing formula. Now the Pure Color Envy Sculpting Shine Lipsticks offer the perfect formula for spring/summer; light, moisturising and fun! The colour range is great and Inspiring is an absolute favourite of mine. It's a really, light pink that is reminiscent of all the cherry blossoms blossoming around this season. It's really easy to wear with anything, be it minimal makeup or something more evening appropriate.
GOSH are just on top of their game. In the last year they've brought out products that I've just fallen in love with. Especially the GOSH Lip Shines that are balmy yet packs a punch in the pigmentation department. The retractable pencils are great for slipping into my handbag on the go. I've especially been loving the peachy coral shade Flirty Dreams. It's a a lovely coral shade for someone who might not like wearing opaque bright shades. It adds brightness without being too in your face, possibly the ultimate Spring shade.
Max Factor Colour Intensifying Balm in Exquisit Caramel (£8.99)
The nude lip, always a favourite of mine. It's a pretty good dupe for the Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector in 06 Rosewood. They don't smell as nice as the Clarins ones, but they're at least half the price! The balmy, smooth formula makes it easy to wear and great for when you really can't be bothered to put lipstick on. Because the shade Exquisit Caramel is such a perfect nude shade for my pigmented lips, I just wear it instead of lip balms and I'm good to go!
I've mentioned this in my Best of Too Faced Cosmetics post. I love love the creamy formula! It's feels so moisturising and luxurious on the lips. The colour is slightly darker than my lips and gives that slightly 90's vibe without dating the look. It looks amazing any time of the day and instantly pulls together a look. I always get asked what I'm wearing when I have it on. It feels as you'd expect a high end lipstick to feel, without costing as much!
