Growing up I've always struggled with oily complexion. So wanting a dewy complexion was never on top of my list. If anything I've always ran as far as possible from any non-matte foundations. Over the years, my skin has changed to a strange combination oily kind. I now struggle with patches of dry skin and oily skin! So this made me more open to try out the likes of much raved Nars Sheer Glow Foundation. I've since tried a few others and picked my top 3!
Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation (£32.50)
This was the first foundation I tried from Illamasqua and I loved it instantly. It is quite a thick foundation in my opinion, and you have to build it up little by little. The creamy formula really helps to smooth over any dry patches and give a flawless and dewy finish. I use this mostly in the autumn/winter time as otherwise my oily skin can't handle it. But if you have dry skin, you'll love this! It keeps your skin moisturised and holds the dewy finish through the dewy. It's a medium to full coverage and really blends with your skin to look like your skin!
I love that it comes in a really wide shade range and caters for red/neutral/yellow undertones. I love the plastic packaging, as it's not clunky to travel with.
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation (£31)
As the name suggests, this NARS foundation offering is known for its glowing finish. The name was what put me off buying it for the longest time! When I did give in, I wasn't disappointed. The liquid foundation blends really well into your skin and gives a 'lit from within' glow. It was a such a different finish than what I was used to with my usual matte finish foundations.
After first application, I loved how it looked and felt on my skin! It has medium coverage and feels really light on the skin. It doesn't slide around on my face at all, and makes my skin look hydrated through the day. I'd even go as far as to say, it makes skin look youthful; because the dewy finish makes your skin look so supple. Worth every penny and I'd say this is suitable for all skin types. Oily skin suffereres like myself might need a primer and a little powdering around the T-zone, but that's pretty much it!
Delilah Cosmetics Time Frame Future Resist Foundation (£34)
The newest one of the three, this quickly climbed to my favourites. This has the lightest texture of the three, and light to medium coverage. It has a nice creamy formula that feels weightless on the skin, and completely meshes with your skin. The finish is very similar to the NARS Sheer Glow if not more glowing! This is another that will work with all skin type, in my opinion. Although it can get a little oily around the t-zone, so primer and little powder dusting is needed. But overall the finish is so so natural and dewy, I can't stop using it! It works really well with the Delilah Cosmetics Under Wear Primer, without losing the dewy finish.
I love the packaging, as it's a tube with a pump. Great for travelling or keeping in your handbag for evening out. This has the smallest shade range from the three, but I do hope Delilah Cosmetics will add more shades to the range.
