I haven’t done a favourites post for quite some time. The reason being they were a tad boring to write as I felt obliged to write them. Recently I was watching Khila’s (Miss Budget Beauty) videos where she voiced the same feeling. So inspired by her, I bring you my latest series ‘Currently Loving’! It’s not going to be weekly/monthly, but just as and when I really want to talk about a few products. In today’s post there is a great mixture of old and new favourites that I’m obsessed with right now!
I’ve been using this serum for just over a week and my oh my, do I love it! It’s an exfoliating serum that works overnight. It has a different texture to my other night serums and feels amazing on my skin. Even after a week, I feel like the texture of my skin has changed somewhat. I will of course review in full, but I just wanted to give you my first impressions of it as I’ve enjoyed it so far. I also really love the packaging! It looks far more luxurious than it is. I have such high hopes for this!
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Perfect Topping (Lightness of Being Collection)
I’ve been obsessed with this particular MAC highlighter the past few months. It’s the most subtle, most fine highlighter I’ve ever tried. It gives a beautiful dewy skin like highlight that not only looks natural but really accentuates you features. I get so many compliments when I wear this it’s unreal! This has definitely made me want to try out MAC’s soft and gentle. If it’s anything like this, I am definitely going to need that. Amazing highlighter, makes storbing a child’s play!
I love this and use this so much that the writing on the pencil has actually worn off. It's a brilliant drugstore version of MAC's brow pencil. The shade 'Hot Chocolate' is a great match to me. It's not too warm or too cool toned. Although I do wish S&G would cater for more brow shades so I can recommend this to the whole wide world! An absolute star product as I already mentioned in my Best of Soap & Glory post, and a total steal at £8!
Another new eye liner in my stash and guess what? I love it as much as my Bourjois Mega liner! I love the nib that has a flat and a thin side with a rounded tip. Looking at it I didn’t think it’d be good at creating a cat flick. But it was, and it’s surprisingly easy to use. It takes seconds to get a decent cat flick and is perfect for everyday use. It’s highly pigmented and is intensely black, just the way I like it. Awesome job Max Factor!
I’ve reviewed this bronzer before, and judging by the lack of pattern on the bronzer now – you can tell I’ve battered it! It’s my go to bronzer and I lover how sheer it is. It doesn’t make you look orange or ‘muddy’ but just adds depth and definition to my face. It’s the bronzer for non-bronzer people. You can build it up to how ever subtle or strong you want your bronzed look to be. I absolutely love this and can’t get enough! It has seen me through summer and even in autumn, I’m still reaching for this everyday.
I wasn’t sold on this initially, as loose powders are messy and just too much hard work. However I love the lid on this powder as it stops the powder moving around and stops the powder pretty much exploding in your face when you unscrew the lid! The powder is incredibly fine and is completely undetectable on my skin. It works with any foundation or even just naked skin. It really helps with shine control but doesn’t look cakey or like it’s sitting on my skin. It really does just disappear . I’ve used it with my favourite Too Faced Born This Way Foundation, and the foundation didn’t lose any of its glow – so it’s a pretty great powder to have in your collection.
