Kiko, why you do this to me?! Another Kiko cosmetics collection has hit the
shops and I’ve tried out some of the products to bring you what to pick
up. The Kiko Milano Midnight Siren Collection draws inspiration from the
mysterious starry night sky, sheen of the ocean and the reflection of the
moon. You’ll notice a lot of products
that highlight with iridescent pearls!
I was a little underwhelmed by the packaging again, as I
thought it wasn’t as innovative as their previous collections; however some of
the products are outstanding, so I’ll let this one slide! The face product packaging are spherical and
quite clunky as with a lot of Kiko limited edition collection, however I do
thing they are designed for your vanity rather than mobility. I do love the shapes and how interesting they
look. They have a magnetic closure and
they feel weighty and expensive – the price points aren’t unjust for packaging.
My instant favourite from the collection was the Kiko Midnight Siren Silk Pearl Illuminating Bronzer (£14.90). I love the design of the pressed powder,
and the incredibly velvety light texture.
It has two shades of bronzer and a highlighter. I wouldn’t recommend contouring with the
bronzers as they are warm shades of
bronzers. There are two shades to choose from, I have 02 Irresistible Sienna. The highlight is absolutely
amazing! The best high street
highlighter I’ve used to date! The
iridescent pearl shimmer gives the most beautiful glow with a golden hue. I cannot
get enough if this highlighter! This
bronzer compact is a must have in my opinion.
Another favourite would have to be the Kiko Midnight Siren Moon Shadow Water Infused Eyeshadows (£7.90). I
didn’t really know what to expect from an eyeshadow crayon that claims to be
infused with water – surely that’s not good for longevity? Well, it isn’t – but the texture is really
something unique. It’s really cooling
when you initially apply and feels incredibly light yet creamy. The colour payoff is intense and the shades
are so so beautiful! I’d absolutely urge you to go and swatch them
– really stunning. Sadly there are only
four shades to choose from. I have 02
Mysterious Chocolate and just obsessed with it (scroll down for swatch below)! It's a dark brown with the prettiest pearlescent shimmer running through it. I use it with Too Faced Shadow Insurance Eye primer and it works well to
keep it in place. I’ll be fast buying a backup
of this shade and I also have my eye on 03 Attractive Plum.
An interesting product was the Kiko Midnight Siren Matte Muse Lipstick (£6.90). The packaging is a little confusing as it
actually looks like a nail polish in a glass bottle. However the applicator has a great shape to
apply the product perfectly on to your lips.
The liquid lipstick has a creamy formula and sets matte. It has good longevity but not amazing. This is because the formula is creamy and is
comfortable to wear – which is better than being super drying but long lasting,
right? I liked the formula and the shade
06 Luxury Sangria is actually a pretty good dupe for MAC Rebel Lipstick for almost
a third of the price!
One product I was less than impressed with was the Kiko Midnight Siren Cream Radiance Highlighter(£10.90). The highlighter is far
too glittery for a subtle glow. The glitter
bits are quite chunky too so it can only really be used as an eyeshadow as
most. The cream product felt quite
patchy too on application. The shade swatched is 01 Twilight Gold. I’d give this
a miss as it just isn’t a good product.
