I have to say, I struggled with this one. It’s getting harder and harder to find good products that are under a fiver in the high street! Everything is so pricey! L’Oreal mascaras are like £12?! I digress, but you know what I mean. Although high street makeup’s getting better, the prices are getting higher and higher. I have found some great little bits though that I absolutely love and adore.
The star of the show - the Collection #Blush&Glow Palette consists of two blush powders, a bronzer powder and a highlighter powder. I didn’t think I’d get on with the bronzer and the highlighter; due to the price point, I thought the highlighter would be too glittery and the bronzer too warm. How wrong was I?! Every single powder in this palette is usable - the bronzer is not too warm and is a great shade for a bronzer. The highlighter is shimmery and not glittery, when used with a light hand, it gives the perfect sheen!
From the two blushers, one is a light pink and the other is a warmer peachy-pink - both look amazing! Depending on the rest of your makeup, you can switch which blush you wear. I’m absolutely besotted with this palette. You cannot get better value than this! Better yet I picked it up on offer at Boots for £3.99 - i.e. £1 per powder! Absolutely must have for any beauty addict.
In my H&M Beauty post here, I’ve mentioned how much I liked this. I haven’t stopped using it since I got it. It’s such a great concealer! It’s uber light formula and medium coverage makes it perfect for everyday use. I’m thinking of getting a lighter shade to use under my eyes to brighten.
I think they have a pretty great shade range too, some with a more pink undertone and some with yellow - which is always so hard to find on the high street. Funnily enough, they don’t show all the shades on their website! So make sure you go into a store to see the full ranges of colour and swatch them for yourself to colour match. I have the shade ‘Amber’ for reference.
Another product that I didn't think I’d like. Again mainly duo to the price point, once again I was proven wrong! It’s really creamy and comfortable on the lips. I’ve mixed it with other lipliners and lipsticks and it blends really well. I love the shade Lovely Frappuccino - it’s very similar to ‘that Kylie Jenner’ lip colour! I love that for under £2, you get a mechanical lipliner that winds up and such a great formula too. If you’re into lipliners, I’d highly recommend this. I’m going to be picking up more shades next time I’m at Wilkos!
I’ve always loved liquid eyeliners, but the past year (or longer) the convenience of felt tip liners did seduce me. Using this Maybelline Matte Eyeliner reminded me why I’ve always loved liquid eyeliners! It’s so precise and makes it really easy to get that sharp, perfect cat eye. The matte finish is great and really makes a statement. I will say though, it’s not waterproof so runs easily in contact with any fluid. The rain we’ve been having - maybe not a great idea to wear this. But I really do love this, this has actually taken the place of my favourite Rimmel Liquid Eyeliner here.
This is probably the best thing to have hit the high street in 2015! I mean why didn’t we have this before?! A dry heat protection spray - so obvious yet we've only just got it! Anyway this a heat protection spray and a shine spray in one. It’s an absolute must have if you heat style your hair regularly as it doesn’t weigh your hair down by wetting it. It has a fine mist and disappears instantly. It has the tiniest shimmer particles to give you that shine and honestly, my hair looks amazingly shiny after I’ve used this! Love, love, LOVE this product!
