2017

New year’s resolutions’ – I make them almost every year and I never achieve all of them.  Part of me thinks why bother?!  The other part thinks, well, had I not made any resolutions, I wouldn’t have even achieve what I did!  So on the 30th of December, I’m sat here writing these goals to share with you guys as I hope to improve myself a little more in 2017.  Remember self-improvement isn’t always about being perfect, it’s about striving to be better than you were yesterday.

H E A L T H

I’ve developed a lot of good habits in 2016, such as, working out regularly, eating better and cut out things that really weren’t good for me.  Sometimes it’s difficult with all the temptations, December was a terrible month with all the sweet treats everywhere.  I relaxed a little the last month but now it’s back to business.  I’d really like to push myself more with weight training and be more regular with yoga and mindfulness practise.  I realised I mentioned I would write about my experiences with a personal trainer and I haven’t.  I’ll do that soon (lists within lists!).


S E L F – I M P R O V E M E N T

Improving my skills is something that’s always on my mind, be it professional or personal.  Learning something new always fills me with excitement.  I’ve wanted to learn a new language for a long time, but it always seems to fall off my radar.  It’s going to the top of my 2017 list!

I’d also like to be push myself creatively.  My blog is a part of that but I want to push myself more and do something completely out of my comfort zone.  I have a couple of ideas of what I want to do – once I’ve made up my mind, I’ll share more!


S E L F  L O V E

I’m a horrible perfectionist and I’ve realised after 20-something years, that’s not a good thing.  In the last year I’ve learnt I’m always hard on myself and kind to others.  If I wouldn’t speak to a friend this way, why speak to myself that way?  We’re always taught to be kind to others but no-one teaches you to be kind to yourself.  So I’m going to practise more self-care and kindness to myself.

I’m keeping the goals quite broad this year as I want to get away from ticking off specific boxes.  As long as I achieve something, I’ll be content.  I want to live more and be present in the moment rather than worry about specifics.
